Foam | Bundoran, Ireland
Situated on the windy coastline of the west of Ireland is a town characterised by its close proximity to some of the worlds most famous waves. Within the town there has been a growth in the surfing community and at the heart of this community is a cafe which stands strong as a destination celebrating everything cafe and coastal culture. Born in 2019 Foam Cafe didn't take long to become one of the most trendy and popular spots in the county. With excessive lockdowns in Ireland due to Covid-19, the cafe had to shut its doors for the majority of 2020. In a response to this  there was a strong need to increase socially distanced seating and create a public-facing presence. Together with a very talented fabricator called Jonny Stitt we designed and built a piece of street furniture that  would address these issues along with having  the ability to be easily dismantled and reassembled, therefore allowing the client to make use of the parklet for off-site pop-ups and other cultural events.
